PETERSBURG WOMAN CLAIMS $50,000 CLASSIC SLOTS INSTANT PRIZE

11/17/2009

Phyllis Laub of Petersburg claimed a $50,000 prize from the West Virginia Lottery’s instant game Classic Slots on Nov. 16 – the day she turned 45.

Calling it “the most extravagant birthday gift I’ve ever gotten,” Laub said the winning ticket was the only one she bought at Petersburg’s Grove Street Station.

Lottery Director John Musgrave said it was the second $50,000 prize won in the Classic Slots series of games. He said the first one was claimed by Christopher White of Cross Lanes on October 28. His ticket was purchased from 7-Eleven. Musgrave said 10 of the game’s top prizes remain to be claimed.

Married and the mother of a grown daughter, Laub works part time at the Pepsi Cola plant and Golden Lanes Bowling Alley, both in Petersburg.
