Bridgeport Man Wins $40,000 Playing Mega Millions

CHARLESTON, WV – West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave announced today that Jesse Gould of Bridgeport has won $40,000 by matching four numbers plus the Megaball from the April 10th Mega Millions drawing.

Gould paid the extra $1 per play for the Megaplier option so his prize increased from $10,000 to $40,000. He purchased the winning ticket at Sheetz #182 on Johnson Avenue in Bridgeport.

“I bought the tickets before going out of town for work for several days so I didn't check them for about 10 days,” Gould said. “I was on the phone with my wife (a traveling RN currently working in California) and I read the numbers to her and we checked them together. I think I screamed louder than her!”

Mr. Gould, who plays Powerball and Mega Millions regularly, said he plans to put the money into savings.
