First $100,000 Muscle Car Money Winner Claims His Prize

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave announced today that Stephen Hudson of South Charleston is the first $100,000 instant winner from the West Virginia Lottery’s new $10 scratch off game, Muscle Car Money.

Hudson purchased the winning ticket at the Cold Spot in Cross Lanes last week, however he did not believe he won the large prize amount until his ticket was validated at lottery headquarters on Monday.

“It did not hit me until now. My wife and I looked at the ticket all weekend and we kept saying to ourselves that this can’t be right. We were not sure we were seeing what we saw. We kept looking at it and looked online to make sure, but we did not believe it until now,” Hudson said. “I had trouble signing my name (because of the excitement). This is great.”

Hudson, who has worked at Clearon for 35 years, said he plays Cash25 and Powerball from time to time, but he has rarely played any scratch off games until now. He said he is nearing retirement age and this will help.

“I am going to use it to pay some bills, put toward our vacation and put some back for later on.“
