Lottery Announces Grand Prize Winners Of Mega Monopoly Drawing

The West Virginia Lottery’s $150,000 grand prize winner in its Mega Monopoly™ drawing was Denise Hicks of Charleston, according to Lottery Director John Musgrave. The $75,000 runner-up was Tony Booker of Fayetteville.

Employed by the City of Charleston, Ms. Hicks is married with two grown children and four grandchildren. She said the prize would buy her a new kitchen, “and then some.”

Beside himself with excitement, Booker is employed by Shoney’s in Oak Hill. “They’ll let me off work early to drive over and get my prize myself. The incredible luck-thing is that I only sent in one ticket.” The grandfather of three said he hopes to pay off the mortgage on his home.

In addition, Musgrave said there were 15 $2,500 winners. They include Michael Malston of Moundsville, Freda Upton of Belington, Naomi Childers of Lavalette, Chartelle Compton of Wheeling, Curtis Rhodes of Leon, Alfred Geisler of Salem, Rob Pritchard of Morgantwon, Vickie Bland of Clarksburg, Christopher See of Montrose, Calvin Hall of Spencer, Dana Glover of Uniontown, PA, Carlos Boggess of Charleston, Lita Moore of Walton, Lance Uphold of Gormania, and Melissa Persinger of Crab Orchard.

The Lottery kicked off the series of four Mega Monopoly drawings in September. Including today’s final winners, Musgrave said prizes have totaled $291,000.
