CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave announced today that Justin Weaver of Independence, Preston County, has won the first of six muscle cars from the Lottery’s $10 instant game – MUSCLE CAR MONEY™. There are also three top prizes of $100,000 remaining in the game.
Weaver, a mechanic who is currently looking for work, says he plays lottery games from time to time when he has a few dollars left over from grocery store purchases. He purchased the winning ticket at Brown’s Mill Grocery.
“It feels pretty good,” Weaver said. “I don’t think it has sunk in just yet and it will probably not dawn on me until that new car is sitting in my driveway.”
Weaver claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters with his two sons – Chase (3) and Marcus (8). Both boys were excited about their father’s new vehicle that will be delivered in the coming weeks.
Weaver says this could not have happened at a better time for him and his family. He and his wife Stacie own a van and a small car. He said their van is on its “last leg” and is currently broke down.
“This is a blessing that will really help out,” Weaver said.
The Preston County resident has not yet decided which muscle car he will select. He has the choice of one of four makes of muscle cars (see wvlottery.com for more info).
“I have it narrowed down to a Camaro® or a Challenger,” Weaver said. “I am pretty sure I will go ahead and take a Camaro®.”
If his youngest son has any pull in the decision, he may be forced in another direction. Chase excitedly said, “I want a Mustang!”
