Tommy Young Named West Virginia Lottery Deputy Director for Marketing

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Department of Revenue announced today that Tommy Young has been named Deputy Director of Marketing for the West Virginia Lottery.

Young, a native of Sissonville, comes to the Lottery after having served as the Director of Client Relations and Business Development for ZMM Architects & Engineers since 2012. In that capacity, Young helped coordinate overall business development efforts for the firm and advertising.  Prior to that, Young served as the Director of Client Relations and Business Development for McKinley & Associates from 2007 to 2012 and as Vice President of Operations for the Providence Construction Company from 2006 to 2007.

He also served as the Assistant Director of Architectural Services for the School Building Authority of West Virginia from 1996 to 2006, where he worked closely with architects, engineers, county school systems and contractors to ensure effective and efficient use of state funds for school facilities throughout West Virginia.

Young served his country as a combat engineer and recruiter in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1991 and as a technical sergeant in the 130th West Virginia Air National Guard from 1991 to 2007. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
